After obtaining his MBBS from the Bangalore Medical College, he was meritoriously selected for post graduation in Orthopedic Surgery at the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, popularly known as PGI, Chandigarh. Along with his master degree in Orthopedic Surgery, he acquired his clinical and Operative skills in Joint Replacement Surgery from Dr. O.N.Nagi, one of the pioneers of Arthroplasty in India. He was then awarded the Indian Arthroscopy Society fellowship in Mumbai, where he was sharpened his skills Arthroscopy ( Key hole Surgery).
He was selected with Full Scholarship for the International Fellowship in Shoulder surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital(New York , USA). He is till date the only Indian to have procured this prestigious International Fellowship in Shoulder Surgery from here. He was trained in all aspects of Shoulder Surgery here, from Shoulder Arthroscopy to Arthroplasty and from Shoulder Trauma to soft tissue problems. He was also selected for the SICOT Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Fellowship at Bad Neustadt Shoulder Center, (Germany) which has a very high turnover of Shoulder and Elbow surgeries, with very high percentage of revision surgeries. He learnt all the advanced and complex procedures in the management of Shoulder and Elblow problems here. He has also done the Advanced Trauma Fellowship from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, ( Hong Kong) and is well versed in the management of Complex Trauma and Pelvi- Acetabular injuries.
He has presented over 40 research papers in national and International Conferences, has 10 journal publications, has authored text book chapters and conducted over a dozen workshops to train young Orthopedic Surgeons.
